Wow, I feel pretty lame for neglecting this site so much. It's kind of hard to keep up with art now that I'm out of school. And every time I sign in, there's over 300 deviations for me to cstch up on. It's no excuse. Luckily, I've managed to keep in touch with most of you through means of facebook and twitter, but I do miss everyone. If anyone here doesn't have me on facebook yet, I think my link thing is www.facebook.com/worst.url.ever

Any ways, since we last spoke, I saw the Barenaked Ladies in concert, it was pretty rad. Got to meet them and everything. Nothing else extraordinarily awesome. How about you guys?

I'm just a posthumous part of the scene
Sigh. My favourite Barenaked Ladies song. Gorgeously sang by Mr. Steven Page, who is, as of today, an ex-member of the band.
I'm just kind of overwhelmed and shock/depressed by this news. BNL has been such an influential band in my life. I couldn't be more upset if TMBG themselves broke up. They are going to continue to record and tour as a four-piece, but I don't know how they're going to do it without him. Steven has, and I've gone on record as saying this several times, the voice of an angel, and, in my opinion, was the strongest song writer. He's responsible for so many songs that have so much meaning to me, sigh. Here I am, acting like he's died, ha. I guess he's going to pursue some solo projects, but I'm skeptical about that. I mean, Vanity Project was fine, but you know, it's no Maroon, Born On A Pirate Ship or BLAM. Sigh. Sigh sigh sigh. I'm going to listen to some music.

Geek Madness

1 min read
Not just my name of my disease, but also a competition! I'm sure many of you are already aware of Paul And Storm's search for the Secretary Of Geek Affairs. Commemorating the fact that America has their first geek president; they have created a poll containing many of our geekiest heroes. This has been going on for several weeks now, but the most epic challenge is now. John Hodgman versus They Might Be Giants. So far, J-Ho is winning by about 4% and if you guys can, we should vote for The Johns L and F. Here's a link;

www.paulandstorm.com/archives/…

I think the poll ends this friday, so you should try to vote today.
Vote often. Vote Giants.
Thank you

Merry belated Christmas! I should of wrote a journal before, but oh well, I was thinking about you guys at Christmas anyway :D Feel free to tell me how your guy's went. Mine was swell, I got a new wii, so I can play Rock Band again, huzzah! Plus lots of other awesome stuff like Corner Gas on DVD, clothes, a necklace, an Office Space kit (came with a stapler, flair, etc XD), Colbert Christmas (yes!), lots of goodies. Ooh! and some John Green books! I'm excited to get those read.
Also, while I'm here, Happy New Years! It's in a few days, so might as well wish it now. And for kicks, I filled out one of these year end surveys. Feel free to read it.

Did you do something you would never do?:
I'm going to have to go with They Day this year. Not that I would never do it, I'm just very shocked that I actually went into town with my head like that XD

Did you keep any New Year's Resolutions?:
Sort of, actually, it's the first time that's ever happened :D I'm pretty sure I had "quit my job" as a resolution.

Did anyone close to you give birth?:
Indeed! Kristin had a baby girl in May.

Did anyone close to you die?:
Not people close to me, but between my grandmother and my friend's mother, it hasn't been a record year.

Did you visit any countries?:
Lived in Michigan for two awesome weeks.

What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?:
Quite frankly, I had it all this year.

Will any date from 2008 stay attached in your memory forever?:
Well, as long as we don't break up, July 24th will be significant.

What was your biggest achievement of 2008?:
Got my job at CD Plus, I lost 30 pounds :D

What was your biggest failure?:
I'm sure I've let people down, but nothing is popping into my head as a total failure.

Did you suffer illness or injury?:
I was sick to my stomache for like 2 weeks in September.

What was the best thing you bought in '08?:
Accordion, plane tickets, iPod!

Did your behavior change over the year?:
I think I became a little more laid back.

Where did you spend most of your money?:
CD Plus and gas. I'm so psyched the prices went down!

Are you happier than this time last year?:
I'd have to say yes.

What song will remind you of 2008?:
One song? Sheesh, um. Probably anything off of Here Comes The 123s I'll remember was released this year.

What do you wish you would have done more of?:
Having fun, seeing friends.

What do you wish you would have done less of:
Eating.

What did/will you do for Christmas '08?:
I fell asleep at like, 4:30 am, was awoken by my brother at 5:45 (damn), opened presents, took several naps, big family dinner, left early to sleep, Amy came over and played Rock Band.

Did you fall in love in 2008:
Yes :3

Did you get your heart broken in 2008?:
Nay.

Favorite TV program of '08?
Simpsons, ofcourse. But I've got to send mad props to Arrested Developemtn and The Office, and Pushing Daisies (rip D:)

Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?:
I hate lots of people, but none that I have liked previously. Actually, I've learned to hate alot of my childhood friends through the magic of facebook.

What was the best book you read and/or movie you saw?:
Best Book; More Information Than You Required by John Hodgman. As for movie? Probably Hard Day's Night, I just got into the Beatles this year.

What was your greatest discovery?:
Tally Hall, Paul and Storm, probably other things I can't think of.

What did you do on your birthday and how old were you?:
My friends Amanda and Kelly got me drunk and we played pool at Dooley's. It was fun :D

What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?:
No job and unlimited money?

How would you describe your personal fashion concept of 2008?:
I actually dress much better than I used to, that's for sure. And I actually do my hair every morning instead of like, lazily tossing it into a god-awful bun like I used to.

Friends
Who was the best new person you met?:
New person? Um. My new co-workers are pretty cool. Uh, I can't remember when I met most of my online-friends, I think I met Ted this year, he's a hip-cat.

Who did you wish you did not meet?:
Sigh, I can't think of her name, I think it's Sarah, but she's my boyfriend's brother's girlfriend, wow, does she ever suck.

Who was your best friend?:
Ana, Reggie, a Power Ranger-esque combination of Jenn, Amy, Mel, Nichole and Jessica.

Who was your enemy?:
Don't think I have any.

Who do you miss?:
Sigh, everyone. I never get to see anybody as much as I like, and even the internet-friends are getting a little neglected, as I am online less and less it seems.

Who will you never forget?:
Same people I always never forget.

Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008:
The flying spaghetti monster doesn't want me to be happy, just try to enjoy what life hurls at you.

What will you always remember about 2008?:
Mel's surprise party/wedding, Rock Band, Weavers, leaving Subway.

Any resolutions?:
Start going back to the gym (seriously Jade, you suck), and I'd like to start supporting more Canadian artists.

What's different about 2009 than 2008?:
I'm not going to be a teenager anymore! :D/ D:

Anything you want to change about yourself for 2009?:
Personality wise, I'd like to try harder to not insult people I actually like, that's been a problem. And then there's always the physical things that everybody hates.

Do you want to make more friends in 2009?:
No, I'd like less  Ofcourse I'd like more, but I'm kind of a hermit, and don't like actually going out to meet people.
